HR Director

Iron Fox Games is building insanely fun interactive experiences with world-class brands and emerging technologies.

We’re a new studio but don’t let that fool you: our bedrock is the result of decades of launching and operating games with major IPs and bold new ideas.  We’ve got a lot of work to do and an aggressive growth plan to support it.

Clever, collaborative, and creative people are at the root of what we do.

We are looking for a Director of Human Resources that can help us grow and scale as a company. Iron Fox has expanded quickly since we began, and we have now outgrown our ability to manage Human Resources on our own.

This role would report directly to the CEO and help establish processes related to onboarding, hiring, talent and management development. This is a studio leadership position crucial to getting us to the next level. If you’re up for a new challenge and want to work with some of the world’s best creatives, reach out!

Here’s what we need in this role:

  • Create and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with employee development, engagement, and motivation.

  • Ensure company-wide communication is clear, concise and consistent.

  • Oversee, refine, and execute employee standards and procedures. Recommend systems and processes for improvement and growth.

  • Establish and expand employee benefits programs, including compensation, health benefits, expenses, vacation and other personnel packages.

  • Be the primary driver of recruitment efforts and new employee selection processes.

  • Ensure workplace compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR provincial and federal requirements.

  • Identify and recommend areas of improvement to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale.

  • Establish and create management training programs.

  • Own the structural design for helping us grow to the next level.

  • Grow with the business; stretch yourself and learn new skills and domains.

  • Have fun; we’re making games!

Got what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources.

  • 7+ years in HR.

  • Experience in a tech or creative company is strongly recommended.

  • Experience with various HR metrics, HRIS systems and databases.

  • Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, writing skills and ethical mindset.

  • Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution.

  • Extensive knowledge of HR Policies and systems.

  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.

  • People-oriented and results driven.

  • In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices.

  • Excellent problem solving and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to be flexible. Plans will change, you’re here for the journey as much as the destination.

What do you get in return?

  • We pay very competitive salaries according to the market - not based on where you live.  We also offer a discretionary annual bonus structure based on contribution and company performance.

  • Crunch is old school - we recognize downtime as the catalyst to brilliance.  To that end, we offer three weeks of paid vacation plus all provincial and national observances and an additional week-long shutdown at the end of year for the holidays.

  • Families matter. As veterans of the industry we recognize that it can feel like “there is never a good time to take time off.” Major life moments are more important than a build, a release or a bug. We encourage you to do life at your own pace, and we will be there for you in those important moments.

  • Your medical, dental, and extended healthcare needs are covered under our group plan.

Salary range: $80,000-$110,000
